Details on Original Painting:
This painting was my wedding gift to my husband when we got married. ❤️
A few years ago, while hiking on our favorite trail in southern Illinois alone, my husband encountered a lone fox. His description of that fleeting pure moment, the stillness, and the mutual curiosity really resonated with me and inspired me.
There is something so magical and mind-altering in those wondrous interactions with wildlife and nature. They reconnect you to something that most people forget in our day-to-day lives, our endless to-do lists and our constant commutes.
We, as humans, think of ourselves so apart from this land and its other inhabitants. We live in our cities of metal and asphalt and forget that we are still impacting these creatures that we share a planet with.
But the truth is that we are still a part of this ecosystem. We are part of this land and it is our responsibility to protect it. We have the empathy, the resources, the science, and the determination.
Go on a hike. Treat our public lands with respect. There are those who would take away this magic ✨ Don’t let them.
