🦋 Each moth was modeled after the Corn Earworm Moth, a moth species native to Missouri and many other Midwestern and Southern states.
They are generally considered to be one of the most damaging agricultural pests in North America, specifically to (you guessed it) corn crops. However, they are also a super important part of our local ecosystem as pollinators and a critical food source to native wildlife in both their caterpillar and adult form.
I suppose your attitude towards them differs depending on whether you are a human or whether you are an animal.
